Celebrate Italian Heritage Month
October 2026 is Italian Heritage Month and UNICO Stamford invites you to celebrate with us!
Throughout October, UNICO Stamford and our community partners have planned a full month of events celebrating Italian-American culture, history, food, music, art, and traditions. Events will take place at locations throughout Stamford and Norwalk, with something for every generation to enjoy.
This year’s celebration includes cultural exhibits, cooking and gardening programs, Italian films, live music, lectures, community celebrations, and more.
Among the month’s special events is the return of “Cooking with Maria Marchetti of Columbus Park Trattoria” on October 3. This hands-on cooking demonstration was very popular last year, so early registration is encouraged.
On October 18, we are also pleased to welcome the grandson of Luigi Del Bianco, Chief Carver of Mount Rushmore, for a special presentation at The Ferguson Library exploring Del Bianco’s remarkable life and contribution to one of America’s most recognizable monuments. Copies of his book will also be available.
Other highlights include the Italian Contributions to the World month-long exhibit, the Homemade Wine Tasting Contest, Columbus Day celebrations, Italian film screenings, a children’s Venetian mask-making program, an Italian Heritage exhibit and Cinema Paradiso screening at CT State Community College Norwalk, and much more.
We hope you will join us throughout October as we celebrate the history, traditions, achievements, and enduring contributions of the Italian and Italian-American community.
